The New York Times has an excellent article that describes the process that Toy Story and Toy Story 2 underwent at Pixar Animation Studios for their 3D re-release:
The production process for a 3-D movie requires the use of two cameras, positioned next to each other, shooting action at the same time to mimic each of the viewer’s eyes. A live-action film not originally shot with two cameras cannot be made into a 3-D film, but in the more malleable world of computer animation, the second camera view can be added. The process involves a bit of virtual time travel.
Without changing any of the film’s action, Pixar’s 3-D specialists, or stereographers, returned to each frame of the film and virtually placed a second camera next to the original, creating left-eye and right-eye views of the scene. Then all of the scenes were re-rendered in the computer with this additional perspective.

Lucky is the collaboration between Melbourne based All India Radio and animation company Dee Pee Studios.
It involves a painstaking animation technique, whereby the team paints in the air with glow sticks, frame after to frame to create entire sequences of animation, sometimes taking a whole night to shoot.

NBC has joined with DreamWorks Animation to air two all-new animated holiday television specials based on the studio’s feature films, “Monsters vs. Aliens” and “Madagascar,” both featuring many of the characters as voiced by the original talent from the films.
The first of the 30-minute specials is titled, “Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space.” It features the voices of cast members Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland and Rainn Wilson. The special is set to air on Wednesday, October 28 (8-8:30 p.m. ET, repeating from 8:30-9 p.m. ET). The second special, “Merry Madagascar,” is scheduled to broadcast on Tuesday, November 17 (8-8:30 p.m. ET) and repeat on Saturday, November 28 (8-8:30 p.m. ET) just before the holiday season.
