Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment today announced that the eleventh season of The Simpsons will arive on DVD October 7th. The collection features all 22 episodes from the eleventh season and includes many guest stars such as Mel Gibson, Lucy Lawless, Kid Rock, Dick Clark, Tim Robbins, John Goodman, Parker Posey, Don Cheadle, Ron Howard, Willie Nelson, Britney Spears and more.
The set also features tons of bonus materials including an introduction from Matt Groening; audio commentaries on every episode with Groening, executive producers, writers, actors and directors; deleted scenes; animation showcases; original sketches; special language feature; featurettes, including footage of The Simpsons receiving their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and more.
The Simpsons – The Complete Eleventh Season also features a new look – a special Krusty The Clown themed box that contains a surprise insert for the die hard fan.
All episodes are compiled on four discs (full frame, aspect ratio 1.33:1). Each episode is presented with English 5.1 Dolby Surround, Spanish and French Stereo and English and Spanish subtitles.

Nickelodeon announced today that “Avatar Book 3” Complete Box Set will be released on September 16th. The set will include all 21 episodes across 5 discs for total runtime of 519 glorious minutes. Of course, what would a box set be without extras? Bonus materials will include: Exclusive Four-Part Audio Commentary by Creators; The Women of Avatar; Book 3 Finale Pencil Test Animation; and Into the Fire Nation at San Diego Comic-Con.

The NY Times reports that Disney plans on releasing five more classic animated movies on Blu-ray within two years. The five movies bound for high-definition glory are: Pinocchio, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantasia, Fantasia 2000 and last but no least, Beauty and the Beast. Disney will kick off it’s Platinum Blu-ray releases with Sleeping Beauty on October 7th.
All of the releases will take full advantage of Blu-ray technology including BD Live, which allows for internet interactivity. Bob Chapek, president of Disney’s home entertainment division, is fully behind Blu-ray and BD Live, commenting “BD Live is not a niche product, We see mass adoption of the technology.”

Coming to DVD on September 2nd is My Friends Tigger and Pooh: Hundred Acre Wood Haunt, just in time for the Halloween season. Four Halloween-inspired stories and a bonus Halloween Handy Manny episode are included on the disc.
Mickey and his pals Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto star in this new Playhouse Disney production where classic fairytales are retold, giving each their own individual twist. There are spells, 100-year sleeps and magical frogs awaiting you on this new DVD, available September 2nd. Bonus features include: “Tales from Toodles” interactive story telling; and never-before-seen episode of “Minnie’s Mystery”.
Jodi Benson, voice of Ariel in the Little Mermaid franchise revealed to the IESB during an interview for the release of The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning that she is returning to the Toy Story franchise to voice Barbie. She also revealed that Ken would be featured in Toy Story 3 and would be voiced by Michael Keaton who has previously worked with Pixar, voicing Chick Hicks in CARS.
Toy Story 3 will be released on June 18, 2010.
