Children’s Fantasy Book Saga ‘Warrior Cats’ Heads to Television in Animated Series on Disney Platforms

Release date: 2028 on Disney Channel and Disney+

The long-running children’s fantasy book series Warrior Cats is being adapted into an animated TV series, with A.C. Bradley (Trollhunters) serving as showrunner and Rodrigo Blaas (Star Wars: Visions) directing.

The Warrior Cats series has sold over 90 million books and has been translated into 38 languages. It’s written by a group of authors under the Erin Hunter pseudonym.

The animated series will follow the core story of the first series of books, Warrior Cats: The Prophecies Begin.

The Warrior Cats franchise boasts 50 million monthly views across user-generated content on YouTube, nearly 3 billion total views on TikTok, and more than 735 million plays for the Warrior Cats: Ultimate Edition game on Roblox.

Disney’s ‘Lilo & Scratch’ Animated Short to Screen Before ‘Hexed’ in Theaters

U.S. theatrical release date: November 25, 2026

Synopsis: Stitch may have finally met his match in Scratch, a mischievous and mysterious cat who Lilo introduces as the newest member of their ‘ohana.

While Lilo runs off to do some errands, Stitch is left in charge of this chaotic creature who leaves a wake of destruction in its path.

The short combines hand-drawn and CG animation, along with watercolor backgrounds.

‘Mickey’s Home Alone’: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto Star in New Christmas Special

Release date: Q4, 2026 on Disney Jr. & Disney+

Synopsis: Mickey’s plan to spend Christmas at home takes a turn when Minnie surprises him and the gang with tickets to spend Christmas at an ice palace.

In the morning rush to make it out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind and home alone.

Now, Mickey and Pluto must protect their home from a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner.

Meanwhile, Minnie and the gang desperately try to make their way back home to Mickey.

YouTube Series ‘Gracie’s Corner’ Joins Disney: Full Library Debuts in 2026 Alongside New Content

Release date: June 15, 2026 on Disney Jr., Disney Jr. on Demand and Disney+

With more than 6.3 million YouTube subscribers and nearly 10 billion lifetime views, Gracie’s Corner is officially joining the Disney family.

The acquisition includes both global linear and streaming rights, bringing over 120 shorts and 18 themed compilations to Disney platforms. The deal also includes an agreement to develop brand-new, original content together.

The series will debut with 68 shorts and seven compilations. Additional shorts and compilations will continue to roll out globally throughout 2026.

‘Inside Out Classic’: Rangers vs. Capitals NHL Game Gets Animated on ESPN+ and Disney Platforms

ESPN, Disney, Pixar and the National Hockey League (NHL) are teaming up to bring fans Inside Out Classic, a real-time, animated NHL telecast featuring the Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers on Sunday, April 5 at 7 p.m. ET.

ESPN+, Disney+, Disney Channel, and Disney XD will present the real-time, animated telecast, while the traditional telecast will be available on ESPN.

Inside Out Classic will feature virtually created real-time animation of the action between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers modeled after characters from Pixar’s Inside Out franchise.

Inside Out voice talent will also be featured in the animated presentation, including Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Lewis Black (Anger), Tony Hale (Fear), and Maya Hawke (Anxiety).

‘Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show’: Special TV Version of the Theatrical Production Comes to Disney+

Release date: March 16, 2026 on Disney+

Synopsis: Bluey’s Big Play – The Stage Show is a special televised version of the touring theatrical production, featuring live performances of Bluey characters brought to life by puppeteers, with an original story by creator Joe Brumm and new music by Joff Bush.

Disney also announced that a collection of 10 Bluey Minisodes, previously only available online and in Australia, will be available for the first time on Disney+ beginning May 20.

The collection includes: Humpty Dumpty, Green Bottles, Flying Saucer, Tea Party, Pea Pod Sausages, Old Macdonald, Honk, Lollipop Song, Cinderella, and Make Mum Laugh.
