Warner Home Video today announced the October 7th release date for The Smurfs: Season One, Volume Two on DVD.
Released in time for the Smurfs’ 50th anniversary this year, this DVD will feature 20 re-mastered and uncut episodes from the second half of the series’ premiere season, along with a special “I Smurf the Smurfs!” featurette.
“I Smurf the Smurfs!” – In this featurette, viewers will get to explore the childhood memories of the people who remember the Smurfs the best, while re-introducing the little blue creatures to the next generation. Interviews will walk audiences through everything from the origin and creation of the characters, to the toys and the marketing.

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. The short film was nominated for an Oscar in 2008.
Donald Duck reads a novel and gets so fully involved in it that it appears that the characters are actually coming out of the book and into his living room getting him involved in the murder caper!

‘I Love to Singa’ depicts the story of a young owlet who wants to sing jazz, instead of the classical music that his German parents wish him to perform. The plot is a light-hearted tribute to that of Al Jolson’s film ‘The Jazz Singer’.
