Ratatouille, Cars, Pixar Shorts debut on Blu-Ray

It’s a great day for animation lovers who own a Blu-Ray player as Pixar’s Ratatouille, Cars, and Short Films Collection Vol. 1 are now available. All three are also available on DVD for you non-HD folks out there.

John Lasseter, CCO of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios told AWN, “Blu-ray is really exciting because I feel for the first time that you can truly see a Pixar film because there are so many details that get lost on the DVD. Also because of the amazing amount of data available on the Blu-ray, it makes it so you can do special features that you can’t do in any other technology. We have the ‘Cine-Explore,’ which is like having a commentary with visuals. So it’s like watching the movie, hearing the commentary and seeing a documentary at the same time. It’s for real cinephiles, and, for me, as a filmmaker, it’s great because this becomes the ultimate document on the making of the film.
