Rodriguez to direct live-action “Jetsons” movie?

Apparently Robert Rodriguez may direct a live-action version of the classic 1960 Hanna-Barbera cartoon, The Jetsons, for Warner Bros.

Robert Rodriguez also met with Will Ferrell and Universal executives to offer his director skills in Land of the Lost, based on the 1970 fantasy TV series, in which Ferrell would star.

We’ll keep you updated should he confirm his involvement.

Shrek 4 director announced

Sit down for this one folks… the director of Shrek 4 will be Mike Mitchell, director of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Thankfully he has had some animation work directing episodes of The Itsy Bitsy Spider and SpongeBob SquarePants.

The script deals with the reason why Shrek left the land of ogres to live by himself in the swamp.

Spider-Man 3 shatters records

Why are we reporting this? Because in case you haven’t noticed… that isn’t an actual human swinging through all those buildings. 😉 Computer animation baby, that’s what that is!

Spider-Man 3 crushed the competition with an incredible $148 million in its first three days, taking the record away from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’s $135.6 million debut set last summer.

With $59.3 million on Friday, Spider-Man 3 also broke the single-day box-office record.

The worldwide total is currently at $375 million and it has only been out for a few days!
