‘Grave of the Fireflies’ Official Trailer, Release Date and Synopsis: Studio Ghibli’s Emotional Anime Film Coming to Netflix

Release date: September 16, 2024 on Netflix (excluding the US and Japan).

Synopsis: Orphans Seita and Setsuko fight for survival in post-World War II Japan. But society is harsh, and they come to the somber conclusion that they can neither escape the hardships of war nor find enough food to survive.

Grave of the Fireflies (1988) is written and directed by Isao Takahata, the co-founder of Studio Ghibli. It’s based on the 1967 semi-autobiographical short story by Akiyuki Nosaka.

Synopsis: Based on Peter Brown’s #1 New York Times bestseller, The Wild Robot follows the journey of a robot named Roz that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.
