After being hired at Hanna-Barbera, Seth MacFarlane, creator of Family Guy, was given a chance in 1996 to direct a sequel entitled Larry and Steve, a seven-minute short broadcast as part of Cartoon Network’s World Premiere Toons.

The folks behind ‘The Cleveland Show’ must be doing something right considering the show hasn’t premiered yet and it has already been renewed for a second season. Fox has ordered 13 additional episodes of the series, which will air fall 2010. The current 22 episode season will premiere fall 2009, along with the season premieres of Fox’s other animated shows — The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad.
The Cleveland Show is a Family Guy spin-off which stars the Cleveland Brown character and his family. It was created by Seth MacFarlane, Rich Appel and Mike Henry, who voices the Cleveland character.
Here’s the American poster for Disney’s release of Hayao Miyazaki’s latest movie Ponyo. The film was released in Japan last July, and managed to gross over $150 million. Ponyo tells the story of a baby goldfish who’s one wish is to be human. Cast members include Noah Cyrus, Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey and Liam Neeson. Disney will release Ponyo in theaters on August 14.
