Aqua Teen bomb scare charges dropped

The criminal charges against Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens who carried out the AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE movie’s guerilla marketing campaign, which caused a bomb scare in Boston in January, have been dropped.

Peter Berdovsky and Sean Stevens could have been sentenced up to five years in jail, instead they performed community service at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital where they designed a mural and helped with repairs on the facility’s Charles River sailing docks.

Blur Studios – Gopher Broke

Here’s another short movie by the amazingly talented Blur Studios called “Gopher Broke”:

Funny Hippo Video

Check out this funny clip below:

Shrek the Third coming to McDonald’s

In promotion of SHREK THE THIRD, McDonald’s will launch one of its largest promotions ever. Shrek will arrive at participating McDonald’s restaurants in North America on May 11, 2007.

Beginning May 11, participating McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S. will also offer customers limited-edition Shrek Arch Cards featuring four SHREK characters, as well as four unique collector’s glasses. Each 16 oz. collector’s glass features a main SHREK character with a scene from SHREK THE THIRD and will be available with any food purchase, while supplies last, for $1.99.

Nothing like collectible cups.

Rodriguez to direct live-action “Jetsons” movie?

Apparently Robert Rodriguez may direct a live-action version of the classic 1960 Hanna-Barbera cartoon, The Jetsons, for Warner Bros.

Robert Rodriguez also met with Will Ferrell and Universal executives to offer his director skills in Land of the Lost, based on the 1970 fantasy TV series, in which Ferrell would star.

We’ll keep you updated should he confirm his involvement.

Tom and Jerry – Pots and Pans

This cartoon from 1932 stars Tom and Jerry (from Van Beuren, not Hanna-Barbera’s cat and mouse). They are owners of a diner car where they perform their duties in time to the music – and the food can’t resist dancing while being prepared.

Shrek 4 director announced

Sit down for this one folks… the director of Shrek 4 will be Mike Mitchell, director of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Thankfully he has had some animation work directing episodes of The Itsy Bitsy Spider and SpongeBob SquarePants.

The script deals with the reason why Shrek left the land of ogres to live by himself in the swamp.

Spider-Man 3 shatters records

Why are we reporting this? Because in case you haven’t noticed… that isn’t an actual human swinging through all those buildings. 😉 Computer animation baby, that’s what that is!

Spider-Man 3 crushed the competition with an incredible $148 million in its first three days, taking the record away from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’s $135.6 million debut set last summer.

With $59.3 million on Friday, Spider-Man 3 also broke the single-day box-office record.

The worldwide total is currently at $375 million and it has only been out for a few days!

Bosko – Hold Anything

Here’s an old Bosko cartoon from 1930 titled “Hold Anything”. I love how the tortured mouse looks like Mickey Mouse. A cheap jab at Disney? Sure seems like it!
