Animation studios, including Pixar, embrace 3D

ComingSoon has learned today at the ShoWest exhibitors convention in Las Vegas that studios are really excited about 3D — so much that they are planning to release many of their upcoming animated films in 3D.

20th Century Fox’s Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Disney’s Bolt and Pixar’s Up will all be all be released in 3D. As if that wasn’t enough 3D to make you dizzy, Disney will release 3 more, unannounced, movies in 3D. Not to be outdone by the other kids on the playground, DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming movies will all be in 3D as well.
