Transformers HD DVD release date announced
Paramount has announced that Transformers will be released October 16 exclusively on HD DVD, day-and-date with the standard DVD release.
Transformers on HD DVD will span two discs and be presented in 1080p widescreen video with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio. Sorry audiophiles, no lossless audio wil be included — which is a huge bummer for those with awesome sound setups.
The HD DVD version will include all the extra features found on the standard two-disc DVD edition along with HD DVD exclusives.
Ratatouille surpasses $200 million domestic milestone
Congratulations to Pixar as their latest film, Ratatouille, has surpassed the $200 million domestic total milestone. Not many movies get to the $100 million mark, let alone the $200 million mark!
I can’t say I’m surprised though since many Pixar movies have surpassed this milestone:
Cars - $244,082,982
The Incredibles - $261,441,092
Finding Nemo - $339,714,978
Monsters, Inc. - $255,873,250
Toy Story 2 - $245,852,179
The only Pixar movies that domestically didn’t surpass the $200 million mark are:
Toy Story - $191,796,233
A Bug’s Life - $162,798,565
