‘300′ slays the competition
The visual effects filled ‘300′ broke records with its debut, pocketing $70.8 million in just three days. The film, based on Frank Miller’s comic, was expected to come in at #1, but not by such a huge amount.
In comparison, the number two movie, Wild Hogs made $27.6 million. That’s 2.5 times less than 300. Rounding off the top five were: 3) Bridge to Terabithia 4) Ghost Rider and 5) Zodiac.
People like action flicks. People also like awesome visual effects. Bring those two together and you’ve got a winner! (Not really… but in this case, 300 fits).
